Desk audit
We inspect pricing pages, order information, revision and refund rules, writer disclosures, service coverage, support options and important fine print. Each claim is recorded as either a directly observable fact or a provider statement.
BestEssayWritingServices separates desk research from hands-on testing. The current ranking scores only information we can inspect before ordering. We do not give a service a paper-quality score just because its own website says the writing is excellent.
Keeping the stages separate makes it clear which conclusions come from published policies and which come from direct experience.
We inspect pricing pages, order information, revision and refund rules, writer disclosures, service coverage, support options and important fine print. Each claim is recorded as either a directly observable fact or a provider statement.
We will use a standardized, non-submittable test brief or editing sample to evaluate instruction-following, structure, language, citation handling, communication and revision behavior. The test result will be dated and kept separate from provider marketing claims.
Each criterion receives a 0–10 score from a documented checklist. We multiply that score by its weight and add the six results. The output is rounded to one decimal place.
Are starting rates visible? Are pricing factors clear? Can a student see major extras and upgrades before checkout? Are price claims consistent across the provider's own pages?
We inspect revision eligibility, refund-request windows, cancellation percentages, late-delivery terms, rush-order exceptions and minimum refund conditions.
We look for specific qualification requirements, matching rules, writer profiles, manual choice, direct messaging and whether those features carry extra fees.
We compare academic levels, subjects, paper types, dissertations, editing and proofreading, technical work and other specialist categories described publicly.
We record stated support hours, available channels, pre-order help, order-status assistance and whether direct writer communication is built into the process.
We score the clarity of quote generation, deadline selection, order steps, add-ons and caveats, plus how easy it is to verify important claims on primary pages.
We give the most weight to terms that can directly affect an order. Promotional statements can still be useful, but they are labeled and treated more cautiously.
Refund rules, revision terms, rate tables and order calculators are primary evidence for what a customer is offered publicly.
We use these for deadlines, support channels, writer communication and the scope of offered services, while checking for contradictions elsewhere.
Statements about degrees, screening, originality or satisfaction are attributed to the provider unless independently verified.
They can show what the company chooses to publish, but they do not independently establish service quality and do not drive our rating.
The final score below uses the six weights above. These are not writing-quality scores.

We keep the source trail visible so a price or policy can be checked again when a service updates its website. These links go to the providers' own public pages; they are evidence sources, not endorsements.

Price table, discount wording, writer choice, support, revisions and refund conditions.

Australian starting price, currency options, writer-screening claims, amendments and refund procedure.

Writing quality: not scored from marketing copy or customer testimonials.
Support speed: 24/7 availability can be recorded from public information, but response time requires an actual timestamped contact test.
Writer credentials: provider descriptions are attributed as claims until independently verifiable evidence exists.
Plagiarism or AI performance: these require a defined test protocol rather than accepting a guarantee at face value.
Material pricing, revision, refund, deadline or support changes should trigger a new desk audit for the affected service. The page should show the date of the latest check rather than presenting old data as current.
If we find a factual error, we correct the page and recalculate the score when the error affected a scored criterion. A provider can point out an error or supply a primary source, but it cannot negotiate the score itself.
Hands-on test results will carry their own test date and brief. They should not be silently generalized to every writer, subject or deadline on the platform.
The goal is to make the limits of a review as clear as the conclusions.
Because writing quality cannot be responsibly inferred from a provider's own claims. A controlled order or editing sample is required before we publish a quality score.
Stage B will add performance measures such as instruction-following, structure, language, citation handling, communication and revision behavior. When that happens, the site will publish the revised weighting and distinguish the new full review score from the earlier desk-audit score.
No. Commercial arrangements, if introduced, should be handled outside the scoring process. The same published formula applies regardless of whether a provider has a commercial relationship with the site.
A provider can point to a factual error or a newer primary source. We can correct the factual record and recalculate the score if necessary, but we do not exchange a higher score for edits, payment or access.
